Big Improvement

Howdy,
So, I go into work this morning, and it's like a completely different place- the Pods are more personable, the kids actually listen once in a while, we found a lock for the playground gate that Evan can't pick (yet), and I hear that I've been such an asset already. Or maybe it was "you've been such an asshole already"- you know how it is to get old and not hear so great anymore...

I'm in much better spirits since I stopped taking those useless antibiotics and re-dyed my hair for the third time in as many days. My co-teacher, Kary, is open to sneaking some age-appropriate stuff into our schedule to help prevent some of the chaos. She treats me as an equal who might actually know something, which is such a novelty to me I nearly went into shock.

Random notes:
- We have fruit trees in the play area. When they aren't running from bees drunk on citrus blossoms, the kids amuse themselves by hurling oranges at cars and by squirting lemon juice in their own eyes.
- Penny, our cult-leader/paycheck signer, got on a wobbler about how our kids are demon-possessed (some days it seems like it) whenever they "go to that grumpy place".
- It turns out that Banjo's real name is Banning. He doesn't answer to that one either.
- I wore blue denim shorts today- that's right, jeans AND shorts- and it's not even the last Friday of the month. Sweet !
- Marc Anthony (is it Antony ? You know, J Lo's hubby) sends his kid here.
- Panic erupted today when a large grasshopper perched on top of a toy bus. I took advantage of this teachable moment, implying that man-eating grasshoppers might follow the kids home if they didn't stay on their nap cots.

Keep your fingers crossed that it'll still be this amusing to me months from now...
